A famous YouTuber trades his Tesla Roadster for NFT
Dan Markham, the face behind the ‘What’s Inside’ YouTube channel (sporting 7 million subscribers) has traded his blue Tesla Roadster for an NFT.
The exchange took place on 15th September, with the car switched for an NFT of the ‘positive porcupine’, a collectible creation of the VeeFriends project (Gary Vaynerchuk’s NFT collection). The token was previously owned by Eli Burton, an artist who worked on ‘The Adventures of Starman’ graphic novel.
Burton was planning to sell his NFT for more than $100,000 but decided to accept Markham’s offer instead, deeming it a fair collectible-for-collectible deal.
Markham, on the other hand, plans to retain his newly purchased NFT and gain admission to an exclusive conference open to VeeFriends token holders only.
Cuba’s new cryptocurrency regulations came into effect
Resolution 215 issued by Banco Central de Cuba (Central Bank of Cuba) on Wednesday 15th September 2021 has officially recognised cryptos as legitimate assets. The regulation made the use of cryptocurrency for commercial transactions and investment in Cuba fully legal.
The intention to legally acknowledge crypto was first announced in August 2021. The resolution that followed contains baseline regulations of crypto exchange, transactions, and other uses. This development parallels the increasing popularity of crypto among Cubans, who value it as a convenient and independent tool for global money transfers. In legalizing cryptocurrency, Cuba is opening up to international transactions, as well as potentially facilitates remittance flow.
The largest movie theatre chain to start accepting crypto
In line with the broader global crypto adoption trend, the world’s largest cinema theatre chain – AMC Theatres – will start accepting Ethereum, Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash by the end of 2021.
The news was announced by the company’s CEO, Adam Aron, via Twitter. He confirmed AMC Theatres will accept these cryptos for online ticket and concession payments.
Clearly, more and more individuals and organisations are recognising the power of crypto. So why shouldn’t you? Try shopping with BTC, ETH, BTCV and USDT at the Exeno store, no FIAT conversions involved.
